Teamleader greenhouse

Do you have the ambition to manage a greenhouse? In this position, you ensure, together with your team, the right quality of the harvested bell peppers and you are responsible for organizing the activities in this greenhouse as efficiently as possible.

This greenhouse is one of the 17 greenhouses within Hoogweg. The other greenhouses and the head office are located in the Noordoostpolder; from there, various matters are centrally arranged.

The position

As a Team Leader, you will be responsible for our location in Nootdorp (6.8 hectares), where you will have a broad range of tasks in various areas such as labour, cultivation, harvesting, and technology. You will plan and coordinate the daily activities in the greenhouse and keep colleagues from the planning department informed about forecasts, quality, and production.

After the daily startup, you will actively work in the greenhouse yourself, enabling you to support the team and effectively guide the process. In addition, you will independently resolve (minor) malfunctions, perform maintenance, and ensure a clean and orderly working environment.

What are your tasks and responsibilities?

Team leadership: You coach and support a team of 10–15 employees and make sure everyone can perform their work in the best possible way.

Site management: You are responsible for maintaining the site, managing materials, and ensuring a clean working environment. You resolve minor malfunctions yourself and, in case of more complex issues, you promptly coordinate with the technical service team at the main location to resolve them.

Planning and organization: Based on workload and the season, you determine what needs to be done when, and how much time it will take. You know exactly when you can take on additional tasks. You also ensure that the crop rotation is carried out smoothly and in a structured way. Because you plan ahead, all materials and supplies are arranged on time.

Work and quality supervision: You explain the tasks to your team, monitor the work, and provide guidance to ensure everything is carried out correctly.

Collaboration: You keep your colleagues from the planning department informed about forecasts, quality, and crop volume. You contribute to a positive team atmosphere and coordinate daily activities effectively.

What we offer

  • A challenging role with a high level of responsibility
  • A competitive salary (above the collective labor agreement), based on your knowledge and experience
  • Employment conditions in line with the Dutch greenhouse horticulture CLA, including a pension scheme, 8.33% holiday allowance, and 25.5 vacation days based on a full-time contract

Your profile

Leadership: Experience in managing and coaching a team, preferably in a (international) production or cultivation environment. Experience in a greenhouse is a strong plus.

Communication: You have strong communication skills in English and ensure clear coordination within the team. Knowledge of the Polish language is a significant advantage.

Personal qualities: You are independent, proactive, and a real team player. You’re able to switch easily between coordinating and actively working alongside the team. You maintain oversight and think ahead.

Flexibility: You’ll work regular day shifts, but in case of a malfunction, you may need to stay longer. You’re also expected to be available for on-call shifts.

Availability: You live within 30 minutes of Nootdorp so you can respond quickly when on call.
