Cultivation specialist

Are you ready for a challenging role where you'll be responsible for growing healthy plants and producing the finest bell peppers? Or are you just starting your career and eager to grow into a cultivation specialist in greenhouse horticulture alongside an experienced team? With us, you’ll receive all the tools, guidance, and freedom you need to succeed as a cultivation specialist!

About the job

Due to the expansion of our growing area, we are looking to strengthen our cultivation team. In this role, you’ll make a real impact by thinking analytically, identifying anomalies, recognizing patterns, and taking decisive action. You'll design large-scale cultivation systems, including (biological) crop protection strategies, and implement them with precision. The best part? You’ll see the results of the improvements you made together with your team directly.

Your responsibilities:

Crop Management: You control the climate, irrigation, and fertilization, and ensure proper (biological) crop protection within the greenhouses.
Data Analysis: You dive into cultivation data analysis using our PRIVA climate control system.
Sampling & Monitoring: You regularly inspect the crops and monitor whether your adjustments are delivering the desired outcomes.
Information Sharing: You communicate cultivation insights with location managers and collaborate with the quality manager and greenhouse staff to detect diseases and pests.
Planning & Coordination: You provide input on production forecasts and work closely with the technical team to ensure systems run optimally.
Team Meetings: In bi-weekly cultivation meetings, you share your insights and keep the team informed about developments at your location.

What we offer

  • A competitive salary (above CAO), based on your knowledge and experience.
  • Employment conditions in accordance with the greenhouse horticulture CAO, including a pension scheme, 8.33% holiday allowance, and 25.5 vacation days based on a full-time contract.
  • Opportunities for personal development through the knowledge and experience of colleagues, as well as by attending courses and training sessions.

Your profile

Passion for cultivation: You love being among the crops and creating optimal growing conditions.

Technical knowledge: You work with the setup and adjustment of the climate control system. A good understanding of (computer) systems is essential—specific knowledge of climate computers is a plus.

Qualities that define you:
Analytical thinking: You detect irregularities, recognize patterns, and translate insights into action.
Open-mindedness: You embrace innovation, contribute ideas for improvement, and aren’t afraid to think big.
Approachable, hands-on, communicative, and a true team player.

Experience or ambition: You have experience in a similar role—or you're highly motivated to grow into one with our support.

Flexibility: You're okay with working a weekend shift once every 3 to 4 weeks.
